Summer Bridge Congress PDF Print

On Sunday 1st August 2010, from 1.30 to 5.30pm, the Melville Bridge Academy is holding its first Congress! See attached poster for more details and entry form.

To prepare for this come along to Thursday "No Fears" at 7pm - no partner required, you are guaranteed a game. Tuition and handouts always available.

Alternatively, students who are registered with the MBA can login and try the on-line quizzes which will be available until 14th August.

Autumn Term Dates Out Now PDF Print

Starting week beginning 20th September (week 38) for 12 weeks, classes at all three levels - First Steps (beginner), Next Steps (post-beginner) and Improvers.
The cost is £60 for 12 lessons - this includes annual student membership of The Melville Bridge Club and on-line support.

The Melville Bridge Academy is the teaching arm of The Melville Bridge Club, one of the UK's most prestigious clubs. The club is located at 9, Grosvenor Crescent which is in the centre of Edinburgh a few minutes walk from Haymarket station and Princes Street. The club is home to players of all abilities from beginner through grand-master to internationalist.

The Melville Bridge Academy offers a programme of lessons taught by Scottish Bridge Union (SBU) approved teachers and following the SBU teaching curriculum. The standard of the lessons are from absolute beginner to advanced.

The lessons are supported by printed material and once students reach a suitable level suitable tournaments are hosted in the club to allow them to put the theory into practice.

Catering Facilities PDF Print

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available for purchase every afternoon from 1.30 p.m. onwards.

 

Starting week beginning 21st September soup and a roll (£1) will be available on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. onwards.

 

Every evening (Monday to Saturday) from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. the bar will be open and tea, coffee and biscuits will be available for purchase.
